Rugby is the main field sport in Templeogue College. Rugby is an excellent field game to accommodate all body shapes and sizes together with varied sporting ability. Past pupils have represented Ireland at all levels the most famous of whom is Ireland's most capped second row forward, Malcolm O'Kelly, who retired from competitive rugby in 2010. Currently David McSharry (class of 2010) plays professioanally for Connaught. Eric O'Sullivan (Class of 2013) is recieving a sports scholarship for rugby from Trinity College Dublin.

- U13 Rugby Ms Darina Ryan; (Training Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
- U14 Rugby Mr. Paul O'Connor; Mr. Kevin Quigley (Training Monday and Thursday)
- JCT Rugby Ms. Sarah Jane Cody; (Training Monday and Thursday)
- SCT Rugby Mr. Sean Gibbons (Training Monday and Thursday)
All games are scheduled for Wednesday. Poor weather and Continuous Professional Development may affect the training schedule throughout the year. Parents and students will be informed as soon as any changes may occur.
